Description
This is the new basal theropod dinosaur Daemonosaurus chauliodus. It hails from the Rhaetian stage of the late Triassic Chinle formation, in Ghost Ranch, New Mexico. Its name can be roughly translated as "prominent-toothed evil spirit lizard." It was small, its skull measuring only 14 cm long (~5.5 in) from the tip of its premaxilla to the posterior margin of its quadrate.
This is my first serious attempt at a digital painting.

By-the-way, I LOVE the generic name for this wee beasty! Should look more like a dragonoid from Hell, but what the heck! Too bad Giganotosaurus was not named Daemonosaurus, because the skull on that thing creeps me out.
