Euhelopus with raised shoulders

Description

Since there does not appear to be a consensus on the angle of sauropod shoulder scapula, here is a version of my other skeletal. The scapula here has a roughly 45 degree angle, instead of being near horizontal. The neck is also in an alert posture, with the posterior 7 cervical vertebrae each being flexed by about 6 degrees. This gives it a much more brachiosaur-like look.

Now this is a much more accurate Euhelopus than all the ONP based ones IMO. And without any crazy bend in the lower neck.

However, even keeping it close to ONP could have the neck much steeper if the hands and lower arms were reconstructed longer and more proportionately as in other basal titanosauriformes, and the shoulder blade were also tilted steeper. As it is, that thing leans uncomfortably close to the hips.

Most mounted skeletons and illustrations don't have anywhere near the right amount of dorsal tilt or even scapula tilt so the neck is artificially low. I am not proposing having a nearly vertical scapula ad some authors have put forth, but I do think that an angle of around 50-60 degrees is reasonable for most sauropods. Here it looks more like 40, get it a bit steeer and you also avoid the hip-touching problem.
